Rob Roy Buckingham, Jr. grew up in Old Greenwich, CT. After graduating from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, he served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain. He received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law where he was an associate editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law and recipient of the CALI Award for excellence in both Tax Policy and Readings in Constitutional History. He earned his LL.M. in taxation from New York University.
Rob specializes in estate planning, tax planning, and trust and estate administration. He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York and is a member of the Connecticut, New York, Fairfield County and Greenwich Bar Associations. He served as President of the Greenwich Bar Association from 2012-2013. Prior to joining Blair & Potts in 2013, he practiced in the trusts and estates department of Ivey, Barnum & O'Mara in Greenwich, CT.
Rob is active in the local community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Perrot Memorial Library and The Greenwich High School Student Loan Fund and is a member of the Greenwich Democratic Town Committee. He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Connecticut Air National Guard and has deployed in combat operations around the world, including Afghanistan and Iraq. He lives in Greenwich with his wife and two rambunctious sons.
