Nancy E. Blair was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on May 6, 1953 and passed away on February 23, 2018. She graduated from Vassar College in 1976 with honors. Nancy received her law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1981, at which time she joined the law firm of Cummings & Lockwood in Stamford, Connecticut. In 1993, she started the law firm of Blair & Potts, focusing on providing legal services to individuals in the areas of estate planning, estate settlement, trust administration, and taxation of individuals, trusts and estates. Nancy was a frequent writer and lecturer on a variety of estate planning and tax issues and was author of The Connecticut Probate Deskbook published by Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Company; Planning for Disposition of Tax Shelter Investments, Estate and Personal Financial Planning, published by Callaghan and Company; Connecticut Estate Planning,Connecticut Estate Settlement,Connecticut Will Drafting, and Connecticut Trust Drafting,published by American Legal Education Foundation. She appeared as a guest expert on CNBC and other television and radio programs. Nancy served as an adjunct professor of taxation at the University of Bridgeport School of Law and was a member of the American, Connecticut and Massachusetts Bar Associations. She was a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel since 1995; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Norwalk , Connecticut Hospital Foundation from 1994 through 2007; and was a member of the Union College of Kentucky Board of Trustees from 1993 through 2002; and was a member of the Berea College of Kentucky Board of Trustees from 2003 through 2018 and was Vice Chair of the Board.
